Jonathan has been working in the financial industry for over 15 years. He is currently CEO of Northwaters Capital Pte Ltd, an asset management firm registered with the Monetary Authority of Singapore. Prior to this, Jonathan spent 8 years with Standard Chartered working in different departments and was last a Director of Client Advisory with Standard Chartered Private Bank. Jonathan has also worked with UOB Bank, OCBC Bank, and boutique private asset management firms where his experience spans across client advisory and management roles. Jonathan graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Western Australia, majoring in Banking, Investment and Corporate Finance.


Investment Director 

Alvin currently serves as an investment director in Northwaters Capital Pte Ltd. Alvin has over 15 years of investment management experience. He brings to Northwaters his expertise and disciplined approach to Multi Asset Trading with valuable experiences in the treasury markets (Fixed Income, FX).  Prior to joining Northwaters, Alvin provided Multi Asset Trading Advice to High and Ultra High Net Worth Clients for 5 years in Bank of Singapore in the capacity of Senior Investment Counsellor. He has previously worked for Citibank Singapore, Daiwa Securities SMBC Singapore, BNP Paribas and Citigroup.


Alvin graduated with Masters of Business Systems from Monash University, Melbourne and Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) from Deakin University, Melbourne. He is fluent in English and Mandarin.


Business Strategy

Jessica has five years of banking experience mainly in Wealth management. Prior to joining Northwaters Capital, she was with UOB as a relationship manager for Priority clients. Prior to UOB, she joined Credit Suisse Graduate program in Private banking straight after her graduation, focusing on relationship management and prospect management.

Jessica holds a Bachelor Degree with Honours in Business Administration, majoring in Banking & Finance, from Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore.

Committee Advisors

Teo Puay Wei


Mr Teo Puay Wei has more than 20 years of experience overseeing the risk functions, mainly compliance, legal, internal audit, and business risk, in financial institutions which have exposure in Asia Pacific and other global markets. He has also been involved in regulatory developments with various regulators in these markets. He has multiple roles over his career
that include a regional risk officer that covers Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Taiwan, China, Korea, Japan and Australia. He served as the money laundering reporting officer for the Singapore regional headquarter of a global asset manager. In his various capacity, he delivered regulatory related trainings and briefings to the key stakeholders. He also led the implementation of risk management framework and investment compliance control system in his organisation. He started Tembusu Services in 2015 to provide compliance consultancy service to financial institutions. He serves in several compliance
committees of various financial institutions. Tembusu is a training provider under Institute of Banking and Finance (“IBF”).

Puay Wei graduated with a Diploma in Banking and Financial Services and a BSc (Hons) in Finance. He attained a Diploma in Compliance from International Compliance Association. He was certified as IBF Advanced practitioner in Capital Markets by the Institute of Banking and Finance. More recently, he completed an executive leadership development program at
INSEAD and received the Diploma in Directorship at Singapore Institute of Directors and Singapore Management University.

Herbert Woo 


Herbert sits on the investment committee board at Northwaters and is involved in MicroProperties platform development. He has been instrumental in establishing MicroProperties legal and financial structure & draws property market insights from a quantitative research approach.


Herbert comes from a hedge fund and securitization background with over 10 years of experience in research, trading, and funds management. He has built various business systems of fully automated trading algorithm based on decision models, portfolio surveillance & risk monitor. He is also knowledgeable in financial structure having built & oversight numerous trust & fund setups.

Yap Siew Ling 


Siew Ling sits on  the investment committee board at Northwaters and is involved at the selection of properties for MicroProperties. She is also instrumental in providing guidance to MicroProperties investment process and corporate strategies. 

Previously, Siew Ling served as Group Director (Corporate Strategy and Development) at Urban Redevelopment Authority of Singapore for over six years. During her tenure at URA, which spans across 27 years, her portfolio includes Finance, Corporate Communications, Investments, Legal and Internal Audit divisions. In her career, she has been awarded accolades including Long Service Medal for her contributions to Singapore in the area of Real Estate. A scholar with URA, she has taken on keys roles in shaping the regulatory landscape of Real Estate in Singapore. Siew Ling graduated from Cornell University with a Masters in Regional Planning.
